Horrible. Carmel shake had no Carmel in it. I asked about it and one of the four ditsy, giggly girls working said yeah sometimes the Carmel gets mixed in and you can't taste it or see it.... Makes sense, why would I want to taste the Carmel in my shake?? While I was waiting for my food another guy came in and said "you forgot the meat in my burger"... The girls started laughing and said so that's where the double cheeseburger went.

Cute little old house fixed up into Granny's. Service could have been better, fries were lukewarm and soggy. Burgers were fresh and hot though, and tasted quite good. My butterfinger shake was outstanding though. Hubby enjoyed his almond joy one too, but it was a little too much candy, too little ice cream for me.

Place is legendary and is hands down the BEST food place in Heber. The lack of good food in Heber and Midway has caused a lack of knowledge when it comes to knowing good food when you eat it. Most of these people wouldn't know a good burger or steak if you beat them with it. Been here about 5 times and it's amazing every time.

The shakes were really tasty but we waited 40 minutes to get them. They have signs that say they're not a fast food joint but forty minutes for two milkshakes is really pushing it in my opinion. We ordered two large shakes for our family of five. Split a large into three small cups for the kids and it worked great. Everyone had plenty. Wish the wait wasn't so dang long though.

Granny's is a seasonal establishment. Open during the summer months, we haven't had the pleasure as we usually get to Heber in the autumn and winter seasons. Well. Until recently. My friend had great memories of a German Chocolate Shake from a trip to this tiny place decades ago. So off we went to relive the memories of her youth.... Service. Well, it's counter service, and at our first trip to Granny's it was seriously lacking. Come on teenagers, smile. A little greeting like "hello" or "welcome to Granny's" could go a long way. The teenaged angst was so thick, it could have been one of the shakes. Geesh. We watched as the cashier rolled her eyes at customers trying to firm up their orders on more than one occasion. Oh my. We got a number and waited to be called when our order was up. You can bet we didn't get a "thank you" either. I am guessing Granny would have been quite disappointed. So do you think the rude service made our shakes less tasty? And by shakes, I mean solid cylinders of ice cream. You might consider waiting a good twenty minutes before you could sip this treat with a straw. My friend LoVeD her shake. And the service was so bad we found it entertaining. I however, like a shake I can both sip and spoon. But the flavors were yum. Tasty, yes. A three star frozen treat. Rude. Oh yeah. A half star service experience. Let's be generous and call it one. So there you have it a two star experience.

Enjoyed my Grasshopper shake (mint oreo). The small is around $4 bucks, and I couldn't finish it. That may not be saying much, but you get the idea.

A favorite summer stop on the way to or from Park City. Long lines but this place is charming. It's an old converted red house.

Ice cream yes, food NO, incinerated hamburger, uncooked bacon, greasy drench fries, spare yourself the pain, McD's is across the street

A favorite travel stop when I was a kid still great now. I haven't been through Heber in over ten years but made it through last week. I was thrilled to see they are still going strong and have the best shakes!

We were looking for ice cream on a warm summer afternoon and found this place. They serve chocolate or vanilla soft ice cream with a vast choice of mix ins. We each tried something different and were very pleased. The servings are quite large so bring an appetite. Did not try anything else on the menu. We sat outside on picnic tables with our dog so can't comment on the cleanliness.

Wow lots of mean reviews which are unwarranted. This place is great for shakes, they have a ton of mix in's and flavors, get in line, order your shakes and some teenager blends it up for you. Go sit outside on a picnic table and enjoy one of life's simple pleasures. Its more of an ice cream with a spoon then a shake you drink through a straw. Very Tasty!

I can't understand why this place was crowded. I suppose their shakes are OK, but the burger was one of the worst I've had in a while. We won't be back.

I don't know why people line up for this place. The onion rings were good but The western burger was below average, the pastrami burger was lacking on the pastrami! You had to remove the bun to see it. NOTE: You have to pay extra for lettuce and tomato! The floors were really dirty! and the tables and seats were sticky and could have been wiped down. I've heard the shakes were good, but we can make one at home. save your money and go to Kamas! They have High Mountain Drug and Uinta Drive In. Now, THOSE burgers are juicy and flavorful! Enjoy!

Granny's has a long and unmitigated history for me. It's not often I find myself in Heber any more. But, when I am, a visit to Granny's for a shake is assured. This is an historic house in Heber City which has been a walk-up, eat-in joint for so many years I can't even recall my first visit here, which was undoubtedly back in the 80's. Their kitchen is open, and you place your order at the counter which was once the house's kitchen. You pick up your food at the same location and take it to one of the couple of rooms they have set up with tables...or if weather permits, to one of the outside picnic tables. Communal seating rules are implied. If there are empty spots on any table, you can feel free to occupy them and get to know your neighbors. Granny's shakes are thick and delicious, and huge. A medium is deceivingly large, and I inevitably think I can handle it. But I can't. As much as I always want to, I've never been able to finish one yet. They have an impressive selection of shake add-ins, in addition to their available ice cream flavors. Bordering on Coldstone's selection options. Wide variety. My favorite shake here is simple; chocolate ice cream, with fresh strawberries and bananas. I don't typically order this, though, unless strawberries are in season because they use strawberry syrup otherwise. But the bananas are always fresh, never too ripe, and they don't skimp on them, either. At times when I'm feeling saucy, I have been known to add almonds. Granny's food, including burgers, soup, hot dogs, and nearly everything else, is truly hit or miss. I've had some tasty burgers here, though. I also recall a fish sandwich or two that did not disappoint me whatesoever. Regardless of whatever else I order, I always get Granny's fries for dipping in my shake. There is nothing better on earth to dip fries in; particularly if the shake contains any form of chocolate. Yes, it's a fact that Granny's employs teens to work the counter and prepare the food. I don't mean this to be snarky, but every burger/shake joint I've ever visited does the same. I'm not sure where those who have issue with this fact have been eating, but I'd love to know how this is a legit complaint. So, I firmly disagree with those skeptics who diss on Granny's for their own reasons. Winter, summer, spring or fall, I love it at Granny's. Whether the food ends up off-the-chart good, or just passable, it's an experience I'll always treasure. Just be sure to use the facilities prior to your Granny's visit. Their restrooms are weird and scary, and usually not well-kept.

Granny's.... I have hear of you all summer and the amazing shakes you dish out, so I finally stepped into your doors. WOW! I love when a place uses fresh bananas in a shake and Granny's does it with perfection. I wish I was warned of the size of the shake. I looked at the cup and thought I could handle a medium, and then it came out. It looked like they took a medium cup filled it up and then added a small cup to the top of it! I was transporting the shakes and had to eat half of the shake before heading out. I also got the German chocolate cake. The chocolate ice cream is rich and flavorful. It also has huge walnuts in it, I think they are half chunks of walnuts, not little bits. The one thing I would suggest is to ask them to either go easy on the coconut or use a syrup instead. I would have given Granny's five stars however, they lack one essential thing. This sort of joint should have tater tots, but they do not. When I asked if they did the girl looked at me like I was crazy. HELLO TATER TOTS ARE AMAZING!!!! I will give them props for having fry sauce. If you are in Hebber, stop here it is great.

Hands down, the best shakes on earth. If this place was located in a big metro area with lot's of yelp users, it would have at least 3000 ratings. It's actually astounding that no one else makes shakes like this! They are ultra thick and made with fresh fruit and blended to perfection (well, usually there's lots of fruit left at the bottom, but that's okay). And to the other reviewer who brought up the health code violations, I'm also from the Heber area and have never heard of any problems. It would be shame if this scare tactic kept someone from tasting the shake of their life!

Granny's is the place to go for a shake in Heber. The Dairy Keen gets all the hype, but Granny's is just as good if not better. You pick from a huge menu of shake options and then some high school kid in the back prepares it. This place always seems like it's run by a bunch of kids, but the food manages to be pretty decent and while it's not McDonalds there's usually not much of a wait. Their onion rings are crispy perfection. Burgers can be hit or miss but not bad either. Any visit to the Heber Valley in the summer requires a visit to Granny's. Yelp calls it a "drive in", but that's not accurate. You have to park and go inside.

The place for Shakes in Heber Valley! They are all Good! my little guy chowed down the Oreo shake and he's a picky eater! My only complaint is that they close in September so no Raspberry Shakes. Otherwise enjoy a delicious shake if nothing else. Oh and the foods good to!

  • Jayd M.

5 stars for the shakes alone (the food is solid too). But, those shakes are perfect. Go dig in.

A nice place to stop if you're on your way to/from the nearby reservoirs. Good shakes. Even the small is giant, and was enough for the two of us. Lots of flavors to choose from here. I recommend the Grasshopper with mint and Oreos. It was much better than our chocolate chip shake. And by shake, I mean ice cream mixed up to soft-serve consistency and eaten with a spoon.

Ahhhh Granny's shakes! When I lived in Utah almost 25 years ago, we would get shakes after shopping or skiing in Park City in the winter, or after floating the Provo River in the summer. It was love at first bite! When I got married 20 years ago in Vegas, we took a holiday to the beautiful Utah mountains and Granny's still made the shakes thick and delicious! 10 years ago my oldest took a drive up the canyon with his grandpa, and came back raving about Granny's shakes! Honestly, if you are in the area, like I find myself every handful of years, it's a great treat if you are looking for one! And they are huge, feel free to share Ü

A culinary landmark in Heber, everyone has been to or at least seen Granny's Drive In. It's definitely your basic burger and fries spot, but don't get me wrong, they're really good, just nothing special or fancy. But what they're really known for is their shakes/and malts. Have you had the Melvin yet? Get on it and add BBQ sauce, you won't be disappointed. For the price, this place is pretty damn good! Tell me where you can go get a burger this good for this price in PC?! Thanks and good-luck! #burgerup #shakeyourmoneymaker

The burgers were mediocre and had no flavor. The fries were soggy and old. The berries in the shakes were completely frozen. They don't accept Discover or American Express. Overall it was underwhelming. If I could, I would give this place 1.5 stars.

My husband and I stopped by Granny's at 8:45pm. All the closed signs were up. We walked in and I asked what time they closed because the sign outside said 9pm. A VERY rude girl told me they were supposed to close at 9 but they had already closed for the night. A young man said we could still order. While ordering, the first girl we spoke to rolled her eyes with every question we asked. Our order was wrong and the hamburgers dangerously undercooked. The "fresh" strawberry shake was all but fresh. As we were leaving (around 8:55) a family from out of town came in and asked if they could still order a few shakes. The same girl that we spoke to told them absolutely not. So I told them about Dairy Keen just two blocks down. It's unfortunate that a place that's been around for so long with such a good reputation has gone so far downhill. From now on, I will only take my family and refer out of town visitors to Dairy Keen. At least at Dairy Keen the staff is friendly.
